As we look towards the upcoming school year we have some administrative updates to share. Hill School Assistant Principal Matthew Schultz will transfer to assistant principal at the middle school, effective July 11. Ginther teacher Jennifer Cooper will be appointed to fill Mr. Schultz's position as acting assistant principal at Hill for the 2018-19 school year.

President takes oath
Board of Education Reorganization Meeting

The Brockport Central School District Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on July 10. During the meeting, newly appointed board members Robert Lewis and Michael Turbeville took the oath of office to serve five-year terms. The oath of office was also administered to Terry Ann Carbone and Jeffrey Harradine, who were elected to serve as president and vice president, respectively.

Book Mobile
Summer Book Mobile Returns July 11

The Summer Book Mobile will return new and improved on July 11 for its second year. The Summer Book Mobile is a library on wheels that travels to designated locations and allows students to check books in and out throughout the summer.

Please note an important calendar change for the 2018-19 school year. Superintendent’s Conference Day was moved from April to March to allow a scoring day on April 8. There will be no school for students on Friday, March 22, 2019 for Superintendent’s Conference Day. There will be no school for students in grades UPK to 8 on Monday, April 8, 2019 for the scoring day.

The proposed $80,248,343 budget projects an estimated 0.46 percent tax rate increase and was balanced utilizing $3,477,252 of fund balance and reserves.

Hill Students’ Poems Published

Six Hill School fifth-graders are now nationally-published poets. Daniel Sidore, Naomi Stroup, Gianna Matthews, Paige Ireland, Kailah Murch and Audrey Bazinet wrote poems last year in Natalie McCue’s, Melissa Norment’s and Julie Wilson’s fourth-grade language arts class. McCue submitted the poems to a national contest.

Staff Basketball Game to Benefit Unified Sports

Save the date for our staff basketball game to benefit Unified Sports! Our elementary teachers will go head-to-head with the secondary level teachers during the third annual faculty basketball game on Feb. 28. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Oliver Middle School lower gym. Donations collected at the door and proceeds from concessions will go towards items such as awards and uniforms.
