Information found on this page addresses questions the district has received and provide information on how to advocate on behalf of reopening schools fully for in-person learning.

Since the decision to reduce social distancing metrics cannot be made at the local level, it is imperative that Governor Cuomo and the NYSDOH follow the CDC and provide updated science-based safety protocols and metrics for full-school re-opening. Superintendent Bruno sent the attached letter to the Governor and NYSDOH in February.

The District has received inquiries regarding writing advocacy letters to the Governor and Dr. Zucker. While Superintendent Bruno’s hope was that his advocacy, along with superintendent colleagues throughout the State, would be enough, it appears continued advocacy is needed for more immediate action. Superintendents of districts throughout Monroe County sent a joint letter on March 26 to Governor Cuomo and Dr. Zucker.

Additionally, the Brockport Board of Education sent a letter to our local state representatives, urging the state to take action and get students back inside the classroom for in-person learning.

If you would like to join our local districts in advocating for a return to fully in-person learning, please find the attached letters you may wish to adapt and send.
