Good afternoon,

As you may know, heat indexes on Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24 are forecasted to reach in excess of 100.
Each school district is different and has different methods for addressing the high heat index. While our District has some air-conditioned spaces, there are areas of our schools that can be challenging with heat indexes at or above 100.
In response to the heat index, we will be implementing the below early dismissal accommodations for Monday, June 23 and Tuesday, June 24.
BHS Students in Grades 9 -12:

• Monday, June 23 
  • Students who take the bus will be released at 11:00 am.
  • Buses will depart from BHS school at 11:10 am.
  • Parent pick-up will begin at 11:00 am.
  • We will provide transportation accommodations for any students who require additional time to complete their exam.
  • There are no afternoon Regents exams scheduled for Monday.
• Tuesday, June 24
  • AM regents will follow the above Monday, June 23 bus schedule
  • The afternoon Physics Regents Exam must continue as scheduled at 12:00 but will be administered in air-conditioned spaces.
  • Buses will start picking up students from their homes to attend the afternoon Physics Regents Exams at 10:10 am.
  • Buses will be available to take students home for this exam at 2:15 pm. We will provide transportation accommodations for any students who require additional time to complete their exam.

Grades Pre-K-8

• For students in grade Pre-K through 8, we will implement a shortened day as follows:
• OMS Dismissal: 
  • All OMS students will be provided with a bag lunch as they leave school.
  • All students will be released at 10:00 am.
  • Buses will depart from OMS at 10:10 am.
  • We will provide transportation accommodations for any students who require additional time to complete their exam.
• Hill School Dismissal: 
  • All Hill School students will be provided with a bag lunch as they leave school.
  • Parent pick-up will begin at 11:10 am.
  • Students who take the bus will be released at 11:20 am.
  • Buses will depart from Hill school at 11:25 am.
• Barclay School Dismissal: 
  • All Barclay School students will be provided with a bag lunch as they leave school.
  • Parent pick-up will begin at 11:20 am.
  • Students who take the bus will be released at 11:30 am.
  • Buses will depart from Barclay/Ginther at 11:35 am.
• Ginther School Dismissal: 
  • Half-Day Pre-K PM classes are canceled.
  • All Ginther School students in Full-Day Pre-K as well as in grades K and 1 will be provided with a bag lunch as they leave school.
  • Full-Day Pre-K and Half-day AM Pre-K students will be released at 11:00 am.
  • Parent pick-up in grades K and 1 will begin at 11:15 am.
  • Students who take the bus in grades K and 1 will be released at 11:30 am.
  • Buses will depart from Ginther/Barclay at 11:35 am.
