New York Times Bestselling Author Neal Shusterman Visits Brockport

New York Times bestselling author Neal Shusterman spoke with students Tuesday morning during ACE, sharing insight into his writing process, books and creative journey. During the discussion, Shusterman reflected on his path to becoming an author, the importance of creativity in storytelling and several teachers who helped inspire his love of writing.
Following his presentation, three student moderators joined Shusterman on stage to ask questions compiled by the student body. He later participated in an informal after-school meet-and-greet, discussion and book signing in the BHS Library, where he also treated students to a sneak preview by reading a chapter from a book he is currently working on. In the weeks leading up to the visit, students and staff immersed themselves in his work through classroom readings, original student writing, artwork displayed in the atrium and “First Chapter Fridays” shared by staff to build excitement.
We extend our sincere thanks to Neal Shusterman for visiting Brockport and providing students with a meaningful and inspiring literary experience.
