Second grade students in Mrs. Shatzel’s and Mrs. Schillaci’s classrooms recently welcomed a special guest as Mayor Ben Reed visited to answer students’ questions about what makes a great leader.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to engage directly with Mayor Reed, asking thoughtful questions and learning more about leadership in an interactive classroom setting. The experience provided a meaningful connection between classroom learning and real-world experiences, allowing students to hear firsthand from a community leader.

Mayor Reed is also one of Mrs. Shatzel’s former students, making the visit a special full-circle moment for both teacher and guest.
